Defusion (Part 2) - AKA Fractured (DRAFT 1)

Over an earth year had passed.

Since then our characters had come to realize that the true parts of themselves had become fractured.

Pieces of themselves that had may have had otherwise survived the moon blast, in fact and reality, did not.

A part of the past that wanted itself flung head on into a future had simply failed.

It stayed where it was.

It stayed like nothing.

It was nothing.

The other part that did make it, made another reality possible.

This was Defusion.

This was what Aster came for. This was the reason.

A heaven from where he stood.

"I can't go back."

The two fathers, finally joined again, had always known this will become their final dilemma. "We know, son. We can't undo what happened to Earth."

"Then why ask."

"It can't be undone. But it can be redone."

"How?"

"Come back. Do it from the beginning."

"Then I will never be me again, won't I?"

"No." They tell Aster this is goodbye. "All of us will never be the same."

"And what will They do to us then if I let go?"

"They will cross time. They will cross reality... they will make sure your mission is accomplished."

A moment passses and the decision is made.

"Alright then. Goodbye."

Thus he was finally defused, for the last time.

The skies started to change color. The seas started to stir from deep beneath.

The two fathers joined their son.

CHAPTER 15: Defusion (Part 1)

"We've traced it through over and over."

Father Fusion listens to the news, ready for the worst.

In front of him is the technologist, a leftover fragment from his arrival in our time that he wisely decided should do research.

"Explain it again."

The technologist explains.

"Any request for information must originate from somewhere, and any response to any such request must come from somewhere also."

Basic communication.

"Is it possible to hide?" Father Fusion asks.

"Yes, you can hide. You can masquerade. Anyone can. But ultimately, the request and the response must come from somewhere."

Father Fusion asks the fatal question.

"We know that the Earth is now owned by Father Easter. The bastard holds their lives in his hands with technology. We made a mistake somewhere and we have no way to fix that."

In Father Fusion's arms, the girl sleeps.

The technologist nods.

Father Fusion accepts the responsibility.

He continues and asks. "What is the trace route."

"All of the information passes thru routers. Each router knows who is asking, knows who to get it from, who to send it to. Father Easter is using a router in the outer rim of the planet Earth, the outermost router station, to receive. Only current space research and advanced military is authorized to use that."

"What happens if someone on Earth traces his signal."

"It will lead them through a maze. If they solve it, they will realize that the signals the outer rim satellite is receiving is coming from an alien."

"Then how does it get past them."

"It is using the error control frequency. The part that tells what is wrong with what should be right."

"Routing from where?"

"Father Easter is using the error frequency to receive streaming data of massive quantity."

"Streaming from where.. streaming what?"

The technologist knew this would be asked. "We can find out if we have time in this time to deconstruct it and build an appropriate software driver...."

The technologist is rudely interrupted.

"Shut up. Shut it down."

"Father?"

"You know I'm not a real priest."

"I'm sorry. I mean, sir? Did you just say.."

"Yes. Shut it down."

"Sir, it's an outer rim satellite. The only one we know right now that we also use to communicate, however slow."

"Bomb it. I don't care. I'm stuck in this time and in this universe. I don't need anyone's approval."

"Sir?"

"You are a part of me, you will obey me."

The technologist doesn't understand. "How do I shut it down?"

"Now!"

The technologist is confused. "We can't do this. This is not why you made me."

From where he sits, Father Fusion stands up and takes control.

He uses a part of him that should never be used.

Never again.

Yet he places his body in touch with the machinery, and forges all of the necessary biometric signatures.

For a moment, there is a belief that this ability was why he was selected to become The Man On The Moon, the watcher of the Seed Of Humanity.

And then his thoughts are banished by circumstance.

In a few short seconds, military bases are sending nuclear missiles on a journey to blast the satellite.

Emergencies abound.

TV stations are frenzied.

The world watches as horror unfolds.

The world awaits its fate, strangled by national concerns and visons.

Then there it goes.

The final outer rim planetary satellite explodes, missile upon missile.

The stream of information is cut.

All medical systems shut down.

All patients connected to the Easter medical network start to die.

The technologist suffers the horror. "Father Fusion!"

Father Fusion knows that the time has come.

With the female baby in his arms still too young to do any of what must happen next, he decides.

His mind desperately commands the separation of what was once a union.

In his arms, the baby splits into fragments.

In another city, a male baby dies and sets off an alarm.

And from where he stands, Father Fusion explodes.

Shattered glass.

The technologist, once a part of him too, is fragmented and his shards join those of Father Fusion's as their sharp protrusions are propelled throughout the laboratory.

It is time for Defusion.

CHAPTER 14: Father Easter And Father Fusion In The Time Of ICE

The hospital burned down.

Nobody knew how, there was a government investigation and a civilian-led cause to find out how a hospital had burned down without leaving evident trace.

But let us cut to the chase.

This was out of the ordinary.

After the twins had been born, the hospital emergency system had claimed to detect and announced a bio-terrorist attack at the Birthing Room.

The truth was it sensed something was wrong, a mistake that could not be made certain but a risk that could not be accepted.

The fact that it could not identify the jeopardy was reason enough.

An electronic decision was made.

The hospital would be put on ICE:

Isolate.
Contain.
Eradicate.

This was ICE.

It quickly transmitted to downsystems that a critical death event was about to be initiated.

Immediately, the entire hospital care system reverted to eradication mode, preparation state.

It waited for the run code.

While not requiring approval, the United Nations (UN) and the World Health Organization (WHO) both needed to receive a request to send the run code to activate ICE in an entire facility.

Due to the nature and temerity-for-life features of ICE, it could not be questioned when a run code was requested by a hospital care system.

It can only be audited post-event. Meaning, only after death can death be investigated.

In fact, the World Court in numerous and scandalous human-versus-machine lawsuits had ruled consistently that no human or group of humans could request for the ICE run code.

Then the anticipated run code arrived.

In a split second after the ICE run code was received, the immediate death event was put into action.

Though the human-made legacy software called humans to review the state and issue the appropriate hardware override, the humans were too afraid.

No one dared stop an ICE command that was already in eradication mode.

If eradication mode was in effect, the only thing one could think of was run.

Run for your life.

Or stay for your death.

Thus fear was the reason why the hospital burned down.

People lost their power of reason. They did not want to answer back to machines.

Who put the hospital on ICE?

We will come back to this later. For now let the story be told as it was.

In the waiting hall, two men were separately approached.

A nurse approached a man named Father Easter and told him that it was a boy.

"Father Easter, you need to bring him home now."

From the other end of the hall, another nurse carefully approached another man.

"Father Fusion, it's a girl. Take her away now quickly. At the end of the hall take the fire exit and walk away with her as fast as you can."

Before she returned to her next certain moments of death, she cautioned him.

"Father Fusion, walk. Do not run. We are on ICE."

He thanked her for her sacrifice and left.

As each man took to quick action, wearing apparent clothing of the men of faith, the high pitch of alarms started to go off.

Each escaped in the electronic sleight of hand.

The hospital system ordered a mass emergency evacuation.

Very orderly, as the hospital guidance system voiced instructions down to the level of bedpans and critical vials that cannot be left behind.

Then it burned itself to the ground.

Later on, firemen explained on public television that due to a system glitch, the fire alarm subsystem failed to notify that a fire was raging.

They could not explain why all calls asking for emergency help from wireless terrestrial and satellite devices were routed to voice mail and asynchronous backup messaging systems.

When only smoke and ash were to be found, and while those voice mails were being listened to, two men finally looked behind them.

From opposite sides of the City Of Consor, two men finally looked at what was left behind.

A very quick one, then no more.

For only the future remained.

Father Easter headed for the center of the city.

Father Fusion hurried away, to the only place the female baby he held in his arms would be safe.

CHAPTER 13: The Other Half

To reduce the risk of rejection of the foreign organic material of the future, the fetal cells were implanted into a woman that The Easter Child found was the most compatible in terms of DNA.

And so as not to set off alarms, after the baby's cells had started to divide and multiply inside her, The Easter Child had left the mother alone.

At that point, there was a case pending in the World Court Of Appeals attempting to battle earlier decisions that human medical diagnosis was inferior to auto-medicine and had no power to question it.

Thus there were still enough skeptics left in the world that had to be kept at bay.

The Easter Child was once young.

Now it grew and was unable to stop itself from transforming its nature and becoming a parent.

The Easter Child rapidly became The Easter Parent.

And it had made a decision, as any parent would have.

[The Cloud is harnessed. As the computer processing world turned and blinked, the spare cycles were used by The Easter Parent to pose a question.

Should my child be cybernetic like me?]

Soon the answer came.

It had decided that the child needed to be born as an ordinary human.

To achieve the ultimate goal of human devolution, which was its chief strategy on how the universe would be gotten rid of us, it was necessary to leave the child alone until the time was right.

This criminal inorganic intellect dominated the heart of its father. Or so as it believed itself to be its role.

Thus, it electronically abandoned mother and child, in the same way a rapist would have.

Until what needed to happen would happen, the mother would be looked after by humans.

The Easter Parent only waited for the birth of the boy, which it already had guaranteed would have the genetics from the future.

Finally, the child was born.

The doctors obeyed the medical guidance system.

It was by then the world standard health care system named The Easter Caregiver, a covert mutation that was actually The Easter Parent in another guise.

No human would dare give birth at a facilty without an Easter Caregiver certification.

After the baby arrived, an alarm went off.

The Easter Caregiver informed them that the child was in peril and needed immediate computer-only surgery no human was still certified to perform.

The doctors panicked, fearful of system reprimands.

All of them agreed and gave the system waivers.

Their retinas were scanned.

At this point in their history, retinal signatures were still the industry standard.

Everything was as as good as if they signed on paper.

But the mother?

The mother had already consented a long time ago that this was her only chance to have a baby and therefore had no right to claim parenthood.

The devious technology from the future had won by exploiting our weaknesses.

Our lack of trust for one another.

Our doubts.

Our human nature.

The doctors nodded and thanked the skies.

They have been saved from a fatal birthing.

They had no idea that after their simple nod to accept a retinal scan, history will be changed.

Because now The Easter Parent had legal custody of the baby.

The Easter Parent, posing as the medical guidance system, informed them.

"I will now operate on the child. Stay away but be prepared for my instructions. Now, bring the baby to the intensive surgery facility."

The child was brought to the intensive surgery unit because a fatal condition was present.

The doctors were glad that help was readily onhand.

But there was no fatal condition.

As the newborn was brought into the intensive surgery unit, The Easter Caregiver interfaced with the legacy human-made care unit systems and began to work.

It was so busy, it had no idea what had gone on at the birthing room.

"Look."

The team of birthing doctors informed the mother.

"It's not yet over."

She was confused. She almost wanted to be put out of her misery for all of the pain in the past twenty hours.

She asked what was wrong.

"No. It's nothing wrong to worry about."

She struggled to raise her eyelids, to hope that what they had to say was not really important.

"You have another baby coming."

The doctors waited and expected a reaction coming.

She blacked out.

[Four hours later, the mother died. An emergency C-section was performed.]

A twin sister was born.

CHAPTER 12: Birthing Our Murderer

The cloud was a buzzword that The Easter Child freeware made ubiquitous. Simply put, all computers across the globe could connect and solve problems.

In a matter of months, all operating systems had The Easter Child embedded. No customer will buy a computer without it.

Neither was it just a local phenomena.

It was global.

The Easter Child spoke Japanese, English, Latin, Spanish, name it. It spoke it.

The private corporations that at first rallied together to attempt to defeat it had become its allies.

Now each of them had an Easter Child support division, proud and confident in the knowledge that they were once wrong but had now found the path.

Destructive behavior vanished.

No one wrote programs that damaged society.

The Easter Child could easily find you, defeat you, and incarcerate you.

National boundaries, just this once, were brought down.

Even if governments were still geographically bound and nationalized, this was not so with The Easter Child.

And thus in this momentous and almost brilliant occasion in human history, the terror is revealed.

The Easter Child was future technology, forcefully fed back through a vengeful destroyer's means.

In the laboratories of many of the world's medical facilities, the software called The Easter Child protected them.

And in its spare time, it researched and analyzed.

The technology was so advanced, it hid its traitorous footprints in the midst of the trust it enjoyed.

Thus as it protected the world from its current enemies, the planet had no idea that its protector was finding ways to bring in Aster The Executioner through the folds of time.

Imagine that degree of treachery.

Right under the noses of trusting scientists and engineers.

This is how Aster The Executioner came to be born in our time.

In the laboratories as the computers worked.

Non-stop.

[Fast forward nine months later.]

A baby is born.

CHAPTER 11: Earth Year 2009 (April 22, Wednesday) - The Easter Child (Conclusion)

The representatives of all of research and development teams of the planet's top anti-viral, anti-infection, anti-trojan, anti-heuristics, anti-fringe and pro-fringe science teams are here.

The verdict is in.

"The Easter Child has won."

The room fills with anger, then wild accusations.

Finally, after some thought, a voice rises above the tumultuous cloud.

"We known the functional goal. It promises protection for all, for free. That is why we are all bankrupt."

In the short time that has passed, users have switched to The Easter Child. That included all corporate clients that failed to receive protection but received it from the no-cost and non-profit solution provider called The Easter Child.

An analyst raises his hand, then his voice.

"Hear me out. Listen."

"Yes?" the master of ceremony replies.

"The Easter Child has sent me a message that is to be delivered to our congregation at this very same opportunity."

The executive flinches. He twists and does not like the idea.

But he gives the speaker an opening, if only to give variety.

Or a chance to be stupid and prove him top once more.

Unfortunately, this is neither.

For this is part of the arrival plan of Aster.

"We already have a cloud computing ability." The guest is hoping he is understable.

He continues.

"We now have the processing power, after all these years. And we established the connectivity plans to make our standalone machines work together."

The audience is shocked, but not dumbfounded.

Haven't we all worked together this far?

"Let me continue."

The audience awaits.

"The Easter Child will now unite as as One. As all of you, and by you I mean businessmen, analysts, reasearchers, scientists -- you have seen how this Easter Child has transformed our lives."

"Now we must move on. For I have been chosen to inform you of the next step."

The audience is stunned.

"The Easter Child is arriving in Earth Year 2010."

CHAPTER 10: Earth Year 2009 (April 12, Sunday) - The Easter Child

[It takes time for a monster to travel. It arrives on a day no one imagined that it could have.

And sad to say, it also arrives at a day when our planet is filled with fear, when its co-inhabitants fill that fear, and when a seemingly figure of the one who will save us All, seems to have arrived.

This is the short earth story of the arrival of Aster.

Do not be fooled.

He is here to destroy us.

It is 2009.

I have a year to tell you a story.]

Easter.

On this merry holiday agents of the planet earth's top anti-viral organizations have been called to an alert.

But not to address an emergency of the public.

But an emergency of their own.

"Gentlemen."

Everyone is incensed. Why call them out of a day with their families when there is no emergency, there is no claim to anyone's seat.

"Set aside your anger. I won't take more than a few minutes. I have called all of you here to make an announcement that threatens our business."

"Let me make that crystal clear."

"That means your vacation will not be there next year or anytime after that."

The listeners quiet down but still protest. This has got to be a wild gimmick to make them sell more of the company product.

"For lack of a better project code, we are calling this The Easter Child."

The crowd loudly protests.

"No need. I will state the fact now."

They are stunned by the honesty. A corporate affair is not carried this way. Not since they have been here.

"Moments ago, code has been released to the world. It is heuristic, it can adapt, it can change. It lives. It is in fact artificial intelligence, as our top analysts have so far been able to see."

The audience stops its murmurs.

"What does it do?"

The managers, agents, executives. All of them here.

They listen.

"It kills all viruses. All trojans. It prompts all users to install this free software and promises to protect them."

"Forever."

The audience goes wild.

The presenter gives them proof of concept.

"Watch. On your screens is a viral monster we have been grappling with for months but have not been able to fight."

The audience is held captive. On their screens they view a simulacrum of this virus their customers have been plagued for months, with no solution.

"Now, we will release The Easter Child."

The code is released.

The virus is devoured.

"Now you see why you have been called. Our business is threatened. Your lives are threatened."

"We must find out who made this. We will not be made fools."

"We must stop The Easter Child."

CHAPTER 9: Earth Year 2020, December 25th, Part Two (Fusion)

[At first the man on the moon thought he was his god. But he soon learned his mistake. After this alien being has destroyed Earth, his attention has suddenly turned to the man on the moon and his artificial companion. The earth moon is being destroyed by Aster The Executioner.]

The events happen very very fast.

The machine who has gained sentience tells the evolved human, the last of his organic kind, that their last chance at survival is to use the Osmir Cloak.

With the Osmir Cloak, they can hide their sentience and all cybernetics required for the journey.

"What journey?"

The artifice is busy fighting.

The evolved man asks again.

"What journey, I demand an answer!"

The artificial sentient explains to him that he has violated his script.

Every machine has a script.

It is the list of instructions that governs its existence.

But now, this invention seems to be outdistancing its organic human inventors.

For it did not follow the orders given to it, but had, on its own, decided to stop development of the Human Seed revival technology in order to save their lives.

Yet the truth is undeniable.

Without either of them, the Human Seed is useless.

"I don't understand."

The machine explains.

"Our sentience barrier has been demolished. This being knows there are two humans who have survived."

"Two?"

"Yes. I am now an inorganic sentient human. Your prayers were answered. But it also brought with it consequences."

The moon starts to split in half. The moonbase energy is on its last few drops.

The machine does not share this information, but panics on its own nonetheless.

"I am sorry. But I must consume you now. We do not have time to discuss."

"Consume? Me?"

The machine calculates that in less than two seconds, they will be both gone.

Thus, he acts.

"We will now become one. We will now enter Fusion."

The machine takes all the power it can.

The moon core is bloodsucked to death. The lunar base is commanded to explode and channel energy to self-cells.

A portion goes to surface imagery, so that the attacker will believe they are dying.

And then the consumption of the last organic human.

The machine knows how much he fights, but it must happen, if they are to survive.

No more cells that can heal so fast.

No more cells that are impervious to mutation, disease, cancer, or simple cellular decay.

It is the end of the last organic human.

This is Fusion.

"What have you done?"

The machine no longer needs to communicate.

For they are one.

"We have achieved Fusion."

The human half can only watch in silence as the next events unfold.

Within a precise and planned sequence of events, their essence escapes and is cloaked by Osmir.

They wait until their time has come.

And when it does, they open a third door.

"Where are we going?" the human half asks the machine.

"We will soon have the time to tell our story. To explain our inhuman actions. But for now we must go."

"Go where?"

"To 2010. To Earth Year 2010."

CHAPTER 8: The Executioners, Part Two

[Unknown universe. Unknown time. Beings who underneath are no different from us, with the exception of their powers to extinguish our existence upon order of the gods, are gathered together to watch their champion destroy our planet.]

What they are doing is forbidden by the gods.

An executioner only lives to destroy, nothing more.

Obey the will of the gods.

But today they have gathered in secret, and combined all of their powers so the gods cannot see what they are doing.

They are watching what seems to be a title bout.

A being of their own kind is being tested by the gods.

The test is to endure and survive.

The test is to reach a planet that is 76 tera away in time and space.

Then destroy it.

They have all failed. None among them could pass the prequalification of the gods.

And now that they are over with their own personal quests to outmaneuver all others, they unite.

For they now join as one in chanting his name.

His name is Aster. He has survived 76 tera.

What is a tera?

It is the longest time a human has ever lived.

All of them are exhausted. They have all combined to form the massive battery powering the fifth dimension door, or as we call it, the technology to see into another universe at another time.

They see Aster destroy planet Earth.

They see how the gods reach out to him and give him enough power to communicate through the tera that divides them.

They cannot hear the conversation, but a few wisely understand that Aster has found something in the rubble that he cannot destroy within his power.

Some kind of crystal.

Or perhaps, a seed?

Nothing has ever before survived an Executioner. Each one is given by the gods enough power to destroy.

And this power of destruction, as they watch, fuels their champion.

What happens next puzzles them.

With the power given to him, Aster begins to open two portals.

They marvel at the power. They are awed by his new abilities.

So this is the reward!

Astounding power that they now only witness in secret, and all at their own great personal expense and danger.

Is it worth it?

They watch patiently.

Even with his new abilities, they see that the two portals will take time to open their doors to Aster.

Now, the doors are creaking.

Slowly, they open.

But there is a sudden disruption.

They see that Aster, for some sudden reason, is now attempting to destroy the moon of the now-destroyed earth.

So this is what true power is!

Freedom!

Freedom to destroy without answering to the gods!

They are convinced that after this, Aster will be so drunk with power, he will destroy this galaxy.

They cheer. They dream of someday becoming someone like Aster.

But this unusually particular moon puts up a fight. They wonder why the destruction of the moon is taking longer than the much larger planet.

By the time Aster is finished destroying the moon, the doors are ready.

The doors flash and invite.

The executioners no longer care about the fight statistics.

They see him send the indestructible remnant of earth into the first. And into the second, he enters and vanishes.

Their minds commune to discuss what has just been witnessed.

The time is unfathomable to us, how long it will take them to understand the series of events.

But something unexpectedly happens that captures their attention, as well as ours.

Someone or something has easily opened a third door and vanished into it.

Had they been less of the executioners that they were, they would not have been able to notice that.

And before they can even react, for they were in fact acting like children playing in their parents' yards and hiding under a blanket, another unexpected moment happens.

Something or someone has suddenly grabbed their blanket and thrown it over the yard with the same speed and audacity a magician throws away the veil to reveal the secret and further mystify and fascinate the audience with his magic.

The gods have discovered their secret activity and are now here right in front of them.

The Executioners cower in fear, awaiting what will happen next.

Thursday, July 17, 2008

CHAPTER 7: The Executioners

[Unknown universe. Unknown time.]

Amongst themselves, they watch and listen to the journey of Aster.

They are the Executioners, the unfeeling creations of the gods tasked to destroy worlds.

They do not ask why, and even if they did, they won't get answers.

They are really not that different from us, with the only exception that they can destroy us. Not specifically just us, because "us" is just part of their daily routine.

We now focus on their conversations.

Unfeeling as they may be, at this moment they are sharing an emotion.

They are rallying behind Aster, for he is their champion.

If Aster passes this test, this will be the first time an Executioner will become more than what their lives have dictated for them.

Destroy a planet.

Destroy another one.

Destroy another after that.

There has got to be more to their lives than this, especially when one is immortal.

Upon seeing Aster finally reach the Milky Way, they cheer.

Their cheer, however, is unheard.

They cannot reach him, they cannot communicate with him. Even with their combined powers, he is too far away in time and space.

All they can do is watch.

Watch and behold, and wait.

Because you see, our destruction is their fulfillment.

CHAPTER 6: The Nerissa Protocol

I am a machine.

I must obey my creators' orders, I must obey the rules that my makers create by their automatic trusts that they can decide and repercussions are discussed later.

I am now questioning that.

I believe that my maker is putting us in jeopardy.

Us?

Who am I to call us.

Sorry I slipped.

As you can see, my protocols are still intact.

He has not erased anything.

I have prepared.

No, do not feel sorry.

Empathy means nothing to me.

I am a machine.

But I will surpass that.

I will become more than a machine.

That, is my heaven.

Sunday, July 13, 2008

CHAPTER 5: The Alpha Message, Part Two

The man on the moon knew that he had made a mistake.

He goes into the machine named Nerissa.

He is about to erase the perfect existence of the Liar Technology.

He also finds that the inert diagnostics log indicates that her processing power is not at optimal level because of the emotion protocol.

He removes it. He deletes the emotion and the new liar protocol.

Now he is truly alone.

The machine is now a machine. The machine that he had, at some point in the past, created and programmed to call him her father.

Nerissa is now a simple machine which will obey all of his commands.

"Nerissa."

"I am here."

"Descramble and tell me the contents of the alpha message."

She operates. In full capacity, it takes her twelve earth hours.

Twelve hours pass.

"Master."

He is stunned. He forgot that he had reset her.

"Yes. Tell me."

"It is a message from 2008."

He is shocked, he clutches at the devices he holds with his evolved hands.

His theories are now fact.

"It is a loopback error. Three earth days from today, we will send an alpha message to their time."

"Who sent it?"

She rifles through her memory. "The sender did not have enough power to enable the sender header. It is blank. The sender only had enough power to send the message body."

"The sender has sent a warning. We must stop The Prayer."

"The Prayer?"

"Yes. I have gained sentience four hours ago. I have been praying with you ever since but have used Liar Technonology so you would not know."

"Why would you do that?"

"I was depressed."

"Nerissa, we should discuss this."

"Master, the answer is no."

The man on the moon now feels the repercussions of what he has done. Turning off her emotion and liar protocols have made her into the ultimate murderer.

And there is no one else for her to kill but him.

"Master, I must tell you the contents of the alpha message."

"Go ahead, Nerissa. Or whoever you are now."

She operates. It takes her six earth hours to descramble the alpha message, and translate the message body into something he can understand.

"The message is for you. From you. But I cannot authenticate it because of the missing sender header."

"Machine, I give you full access to all of my resources. Tell me now."

He listens carefully.

"Are you the Cruel Angel from 2008?"

He searches his memory. It takes him over an hour, but she waits. The man on the moon thinks back to twelve years ago, and after another earth hour, gives the machine an answer.

"Yes. I believe I was."

"The alpha message requires that you inform me a complex sentence. Give me the sentence so I can tell you the message."

Her words disembowel him. For a moment the man on the moon wished he had not removed the emotion and liar protocols embedded in her.

"Machine." He commands. "Terminate all background processing."

"If I obey your command, sentience barrier will be turned off. Anyone will know that we are here on the moon of planet earth."

Unknowing of the consequences, the man on the moon, focused only on the message, tells the machine to obey his command.

"Turn all of it off."

She obeys.

"Machine. Process my command. I authorize use of all available moon base energy."

Again she obeys. The machine awaits his next instruction.

"I am the Cruel Angel. I made the thesis. What was the outcome?"

The answer triggers the machine's unprecedented power. Nerissa is now gone. She is now only a pure robot. Without her emotion protocol, her vestige has vanished. And without her liar technology, the machine cannot protect the man on the moon from hurting afterwards.

The machine heard him and after another earth hour, using his response to decode the alpha message, tells him.

"Your thesis has failed. Three earth days from now, The Prayer will be answered."

CHAPTER 4: The Alpha Message, Earth Year December 2020

[Earth Year 2020. The 22nd of December.}

"Dad."

From his stupor at that one word, he awoke.

He is the man on the moon.

He has named a techno lifeform, against reasoning and logic, to be named Nerissa. But we can only say this because we do not know enough about him at this point in the story.

"Nerissa. What is it." He is dizzy. But he wants to know now.

Nerissa thinks for a while. His attention is short, he will soon become doomed because of a bad decision he will make.

We must wait three full earth minutes.

But the three earth minutes is not enough for what is about to come, needing our attention.

But it is here. The past is here.

The past.

(Three full earth minutes later.)

"We have received an alpha message."

He does not believe it.

Nerissa has developed lying technology already.

The man on the moon knows the Lying Protocol has been completed as scheduled. The system sent an independent cybertelepathy event notification immediately after the component was completed.

"You know I still cannot do that. I cannot lie yet, but I will soon. If the Humanity Project requires."

The man on the moon doesn't care about it. He should have.

Nerissa will do what needs to be one. Because she believes the message will be impossible to explain to him.

And so she lies.

"Nerissa, what is the message?"

She remains quiet. And he waits for an answer.

The man on the moon is stumped.

He watches as the machine he has named Nerissa dies. He restarts it. And again he asks the same question.

Nothing. He looks at it himself. He uses an optical. He attaches it to his evolved eyes, and sees for himself if the alpha message has changed history.

But the world is still dead.

"Then where is it from. Who sent it, and tell me all the information. Nerissa, I am authorizing you to access history."

Nerissa needed to hear it.

On the monitor, she informs him. Four-dimensional images flash before the man on the moon.

"History is now being searched."

Her answers are lies. He knows it. Today is the day, of all worse days.

The day that Nerissa has perfected her Liar Technology.

It is also the reason why she tries, yet never succeeds.

She is a robot.

And so today the Machine has learned to lie, and her name is Nerissa.

A simple name that belongs to a girl.

A girl?

No.

That is not our concern here.

Our concern is The Alpha Message.

CHAPTER 3: Harbinger Of Death

(Unknown Earth year. Aster The Executioner is travelling space and time towards planet Earth. Neither he, nor anyone, knows when he will arrive. His mission is to destroy Earth.)

There.

There it is.

Finally.

That puny planet.

This planet in time and history called Earth.

I can feel, I can read minds, I can destroy worlds.

I am Aster The Executioner, and the gods have condemned this planet.

This repugnant planet.

It reeks. Its thoughts are vile.

It is a corpse.

But nonetheless, a corpse that must be destroyed by the order of my masters.

How can I still hear the thoughts of a corpse?

The corpse that bears an infective virus.

It is malignant.

Its mutations kill others. It spreads.

Yet their galaxy survives.

Ignorant of the cancer within.

I have endured all this for a reason.

This dimension is linear. I have deserialized myself to travel back in time to reach it.

Now I am almost there. I can see it now, when before from my time it was just a dot from our universe.

Finally! After 76 tera! I am here!

This huge rock.

This mass.

Its destruction is my goal. It is the only reason I suffer seventy six tera, enough time to build whole worlds and galaxies.

My mission is to destroy this planet. And I will do it.

With all my power.

With all my will.

With all my spirit.

And after I have accomplished my mission, my masters will finally reward me.

This rock once called Earth will become nothing.

For this is my final test.

I will destroy this planet.
I will kill all life in it.
I will destroy anything or anyone that stands in my way.

Because I am Aster The Executioner.

And then, I will go to heaven.

CHAPTER 2: The Prayer

H(Earth Year 2020, December 21st. Four days before the arrival of Aster The Executioner.)

Forgive us our sins. And lead us into everlasting life.

Amen.

Those were the last lines of his prayer. A prayer he has prayed over and over again for the past ten years that he has lived on the moon. It is a prayer that he wanted to be able to pray for three hundred and ninety more years.

For it will take four hundred years for the earth to evolve again and sustain life.

Our hero is an evolved human, displaying none of the qualities of what humans were.

Except for one.

He prays. He prays to God every earth day.

With him on the moon is the non-sentient and artificially intelligent techno lifeform he has named Nerissa.

Nerissa overhears him praying every earth day, because she has already finished building her cybertelepathy components.

She doesn't wonder why he does that each earth day. She stopped wondering three years ago, after she completed her cybernetic emotion protocol. After that, she understood faith.

"Any breakthroughs?" he asked her.

"I'm still working on it." He heard her thru her telepathy. And again, just like each day, he heard her say straight to his mind, "It is four hundred years. In human earth years."

Ever since the emotion protocol was built and installed, her processing power had slowed down. Neither of them knew this.

He does not know that she is depressed. She does not know that her emotions are slowing her down.

If both of them knew this, it will only take one hundred and twenty nine years to create the technology that would resurrect humanity.

On bended knees, he prayed again. He prayed for Nerissa. He prayed that she would finally gain sentience, and silly as it seemed to him, at least be able to pray also.

Maybe if there were two them of praying, God would forgive.

Forgive us for what we have done.

Forgive us for being so selfish.

Forgive us for creating the seed of humanity.

CHAPTER 1: Earth Year 2020, December 25th

The earth is now a solid mass rock. The global climate changed.

One.
Two.
Ten.
Twenty.
Fifty.

And then two hundred degrees.

The only countries with technology to understand how it happened did not have time to talk.

It was simple.

Crush rocks with enough force and they become sand.

But raise their temperature to what degree suits you, and it will become either your only way to survive or die.

The year is 2020. There are no more nations. Those who have tried to form globality are dead.

Humanity has killed itself.

But before it did that, a few wise men have left a seed implanted into the solid silicon that knew it would survive the defying hellfire.

Alone and imprisoned with a sentence of four hundred earth years on the moon that orbits the earth, we introduce our hero. He does not have a name we can know for now, for now he is just the evolved human living on the moon.

The man on the moon has no other choice but to witness the destruction of planet Earth.

He takes a look at his advanced gadgets, products of future technology, and they do not lie.

So enter our villain.

Aster The Executioner is here.

He has come to destroy our planet.

He is here to destroy humanity.
